Addis Abeba, 7 November 2017: The African Union Commission has learnt of the existence of a report circulating on social media purporting to be an official media statement attributed to the African Union regarding the recent runoff election in Kenya, and remarks attributed to President Alpha Conde of Guinea who is also the Chairperson of the Union.

The above report is false, and the AUC distances itself from this malicious report which is neither dated nor published with the official AUC letterhead.

The AUC further wishes to draw to public attention that all official AUC media statements are distributed on the official website of the African Union Commission www.au.int.
