The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this morning held consultations with the Ambassadors of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger accredited to the African Union.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the political situation in their respective countries and explore avenues for renewed engagement towards the restoration of constitutional order, in line with AU norms and shared commitments.

As part of the Commission’s continued efforts to encourage dialogue and support peaceful solutions, the Chairperson conveyed letters to the respective Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the three countries, inviting them to Addis Ababa for further consultations. These discussions aim to identify a consensual and time-bound roadmap for a return to constitutional governance.

The African Union remains committed to working with all Member States in the spirit of solidarity, cooperation, and respect for the principles enshrined in the AU Constitutive Act.
