This afternoon, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, met with H.E. Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly on the sidelines of #UNGA80 in New York. They held constructive discussions on strengthening multilateralism to advance sustainable development & address global challenges.

The Chairperson outlined Africa’s priorities requiring close engagement with the General Assembly, reaffirming the AU’s strong partnership with the UN & his personal support for the @UN_PGA mandate. They both leaders emphasized that pressing issues such as climate change and peace and security demand collective action.
