This afternoon, the Chairperson of the AU Commission , H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received a high-level delegation of #women civil society leaders at the AU HQ. The delegation comprised representatives of the Pan African Women’s Organization (PAWO), the #Gender is My Agenda Campaign (GIMAC), the Rapporteur of the AU STC on Gender Equality, & other distinguished delegates.

The delegation acknowledged Mr. Youssouf's steadfast advocacy for women’s inclusion & leadership within AU processes & across the continent.

The Chairperson reaffirmed that the full, equal, & meaningful participation of women in political, social, & economic spheres is not only a matter of rights, but also a cornerstone for peace, prosperity, & the realization of Africa’s shared vision under #Agenda2063.
