The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, bid farewell to H.E. Ambassador Nakagawa Tsutomu of Japan, commending his dedication to strengthening the AU–Japan partnership and advancing shared aspirations for peace and sustainable development across Africa.

H.E. Youssouf lauded the AU–Japan cooperation as a strategic and enduring partnership. Amb. Tsutomu, in turn, appreciated the Chairperson’s leadership, noting that under his tenure, TICAD9 achieved remarkable success in both high-level participation and outcomes.

They agreed to continue close consultations on the venue, dates, and priority areas for TICAD10.
The Chairperson wished Amb. Tsutomu success in his future endeavors and reaffirmed commitment to deepening collaboration with his successor.
