Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 17 June 2016: H.E Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), will lead a delegation from the AUC to take part in the 3rd Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation scheduled for 20-22 June 2016 in Beijing, China.
Holding under the theme: “Win-win cooperation, common development”, the Media Forum is one of the outcomes of the FOCAC Summit (Forum on China-Africa Cooperation) that took place on the 4th and 5th of December 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa on the theme "China-Africa Progressing Together: Win-Win Cooperation for Common Development". During the event in South Africa, the Heads of State and Government of the African Union and of the People's Republic of China resolved to consolidate solidarity and cooperation among the peoples of China and Africa by ushering in a new blueprint to realize opportunities for future mutual development, and to contribute to promoting world peace, stability and the development of Africa and China. As a result, both sides agreed to continue to strengthen the current platform for collective dialogue, consolidate Africa-China traditional friendship, deepen strategic collaboration and enhance the mechanism of practical cooperation between China and Africa. Both sides also agreed to upgrade the new type of strategic partnership to comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership and promote a comprehensive upgrading of the China-Africa friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The 3rd Forum on Africa-China Cooperation is organised by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China (SAPPRFT). H.E Erastus Mwencha is expected to deliver a key note speech during the opening ceremony of the event.
Participants at the Media Forum will discuss and exchange views on media policies and regulations in African and China countries, media cooperation and capacity building as well as digitalization of broadcasting and new media development.
The Media Forum will bring together broadcasters and, media enterprises and academicians in related areas from Africa and China. An exhibition and a visit to the Chinese broadcasters and media enterprises will be organised during the event.
