Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma wishes on the occasion of Nelson Mandela’s 95th Birthday
Addis Ababa 18 July 2013 - The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma says the African Union joins the world in wishing Former President Nelson Mandela a happy and healthy 95th Birthday and on the occasion of the fifth annual Nelson Mandela International Day.
“I extend my heartfelt wishes and prayers as well as the African Union to President Nelson Mandela on the occasion of his 95th birthday, and the fifth annual Nelson Mandela International Day," Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma said in a statement issued today Thursday 18th July.
“The values of solidarity, humanity, reconciliation and service to the ordinary people that Madiba practiced and contributed to throughout his life are the very foundation of the shared values the African Union is promoting, and which guide it as it celebrates the OAU/AU 50 years Anniversary and develops Africa Agenda 63 towards an Africa that is prosperous and at peace with itself and a major player in global affairs", observed the AUC Chairperson.
Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma called on the entire Continent to continue to pray for the speed recovery of the Anti-apartheid hero “who is a source of inspiration and hope to millions across Africa and across the world” underlined the AUC Chairperson.
