Opening Speech for ZTE
Good morning ladies and gentle men. A warm welcome to our special guest Amb. Albert Muchanga, Commissioner for Trade and Industry at the African Union Commission, Ambassador Fantahon, Mr. Chen Ning Counselor, first Cooperation and Exchange Office, Mission of China to AU and other honorable guests who attend this event, welcome all of you.
Last year on 24 June 2016 The African Union Commission (AUC) and ZTE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the area of ICT and the smart digital transformation of the continent, which mutually agreed to be partners in the areas of the Africa Center for Disease Control (CDC) and ICT development.
As an ICT leader this is our social responsibility to uplift health conditions of Africa to upgrade medical facilities by using our leading experiences as we did worldwide. Based on this MoU, ZTE is powering innovation in healthcare with advanced technologies to help the whole African Nations deliver remote care, securely and seamlessly. ZTE has agreed to create opportunities within the framework of the MoU for trainings in ICT capabilities to Africans in general and to the AUC staff in particular.
To accomplish this MoU, ZTE established a demo smart health monitoring room to show how the Africa Center for Disease Control (CDC) will operate. For example, the Smart Health Monitoring Room will extract major health analysis to record and upload it. Remote cities equipped with this type of primary health centers will contribute to alert the decease spread threat and risk and will also help to analyze the specific area health conditions improvement measures.
Smart Health Monitoring Room uses the power of networked technologies to reduce barriers to healthcare access. Following the philosophy of “mutual benefits and win-win cooperation”, ZTE establishes a strategic cooperation partnership with the whole African nations to provide excellent solutions and services for customers.
Efforts should be made in integrating health care informatization resources and strengthening the construction of information standardization and public service information platform, which help gradually realize a unified standard and efficient interrelated information exchange.
