It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

INTRODUCTION
In line with the African Union’s mandate of promoting democracy and democratic elections in Africa, His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), deployed an Election Observation Mission to the 7th November 2019 Parliamentary Elections in the Republic of Mauritius.
Heads of International Election Observation Missions to the 7th November 2019 National Assembly elections in the Republic of Mauritius will hold a post-election meeting to present a Post-Election Preliminary Statement.
Port Louis, 04 November 2019– African Union Commission (AUC) announces the arrival of an observation mission for parliamentary elections scheduled for 7th November 2019 in the Republic of Mauritius. The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, has dispatched this short-term mission to observe and report on the electoral process.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission has decided to deploy forty (40) Short-Term Observers (STOs) in the Republic of Mauritius from 31st October to 12 November 2019 for the 7th November 2019 Parliamentary Elections.
