Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.

H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

What: Continental Youth Consultation on the Draft AU Transitional Justice Policy
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 9 November 2016: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has congratulated President-Elect of the United States of America (USA), Mr. Donald John Trump, on his election as next President of the United States of America. President-Elect Donald Trump emerged victorious following a heavily contested 58th Quadrennial U.S. presidential election, which was held on 8 November 2016.
Addis Ababa, 4 November 2016: The Pan African University Council has concluded its Second Ordinary Session at the AUC Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Council is the highest governing body of the PAU, an African Union flagship programme established to address quality, relevance and excellence in accordance with the Aspiration 1 of Agenda 2063. The meeting deliberated on a list of important policy questions bordering on the implementation of a full-fledged university structure and network, as well as budgetary, financial and administrative issues.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, HE Dr. Dlamini Zuma congratulates African and Diaspora writers – past and present - on the occasion of the 23rd Anniversary of International African Writers Day, 7 November 2016. She recalls that the day coincides with the birth of the Pan African Writers Association, an organization dedicated to promoting African classic works, and encouraging publishing and the culture of writing and reading on the continent.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 7 November 2016: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) has expressed her deep sadness following the untimely death of Major-General Dr. Julius Facki Oketta, former Head of Mission to the African Union Support to Ebola Outbreak to West Africa (ASEOWA). The death occurred in Kampala, Uganda, on Saturday, 5 November 2016, following a heart-attack. He died at the age of 60. The AU Commission Chairperson has sent her deepest condolences to the bereaved family, as well as to the Government and People of the Republic of Uganda.
