The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, has endorsed the Return Visit of the Head of African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the 12th August 2021 General Elections in Zambia, H.E. Ernest Bai Koroma, former President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. The main objectives of the Return Visit are to formally present the Final Report of the AUEOM to Zambian authorities and stakeholders and engage in discussion with stakeholders on the key findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the Mission.

7 November 2021, Addis Ababa: The African Union Commission has learnt of the existence of a report circulating on social media purporting to be an official internal memo attributed to the Chairperson of the Commission, allegedly calling for a temporary relocation of the Commission and its staff from Ethiopia.

The said report is fake news and has no basis in fact nor form.

The African Energy Commission (AFREC) in collaboration with the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO), on 29 October 2021, hosted virtual kick-off meetings to launch the activities of the NDC Support Centre in Morocco aimed at improving reporting of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC). The NDC Support Center project is an initiative of AFREC and VITO which was launched in Malawi and Uganda in May and June 2021.  Morocco is the third country to benefit from this pilot initiative, and more African countries are expected to benefit in the future.
