Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) have been at the centre of discussions in Africa due to their negative impact on development financing, sustainable development and growth. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the fiscal deficit situation in some African countries, equally bringing to the fore, the urgency to address the vice of the illicit outflows.
WHAT: Weekly engagement with members of the media to share critical updates on the COVID-19 response activities. This week’s briefing will be live from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where the Director of Africa CDC is on the second leg of his field visits to AU member states to assess the COVID-19 situations in the countries.
Each year on World AIDS Day, we take time to reflect upon our worldwide response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic by remembering where we started decades ago, honouring our achievements, and pledging to work harder and smarter, for more inclusive and innovative strategies towards the end of AIDS by 2030. This year, health systems are in the most pressed state in history, as we strive to meet the socio-economic shocks and disruptions brought about the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Social Affairs, through the Labor, Employment and Migration Division, has been working to strengthen the coordination of the migration agenda in the African Union Commission (AUC). This is a key strategy of the Department’s 5-Year Migration Strategic Plan that seeks to promote synergy and collaboration among various AUC departments, offices and specialized agencies of the African Union.

Ibadan, Nigeria : On Tuesday, 17 November 2020, was organized the Graduation ceremony of the fourth batch of PhD students of the Pan African University Institute for Life and Earth Sciences including Health and Agriculture (PAULESI). This was part of the seventy two Foundation Day ceremony of the University of Ibadan, for the admission to Higher Degrees (Doctorate) and award of honorary degrees.
