Addis Ababa, 10 September 2020. The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, expresses his full solidarity and extends his condolences to the governments and peoples of Member States affected by devastating flooding which have resulted in lives lost, massive displacement, diminished livelihoods and destruction of property. This humanitarian catastrophe has been pronounced in Sudan, Burkina Faso, Niger, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroun, Chad and Mauritania.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Sudan, Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North led by Mr. Abdalaziz Adam Alhilu, for signing the Principles outlined in the Joint Agreement, on 3 September 2020 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Team Europe: Germany and European Union jointly support African Union’s response to COVID-19
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) today received additional 500,000 COVID-19 test kits from the German Government through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). As part of the EU’s global coronavirus response, the test kits were delivered by an EU Humanitarian Air Bridge flight in August.
