Johannesburg, South Africa – 22nd September, 2016: The African Union Commission (AUC), through the Infrastructure and Energy Department, in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services of South Africa and the Internet Services Providers Association of South Africa, launched the AU support to the Johannesburg Internet Exchange to become a regional internet exchange point.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 28 September 2016 – A ground breaking ceremony was held today for the AU Integrated Service Centre marking the strengthening cooperation between the AU and the People’s Republic of China. The ceremony was held as part of the AU celebrations to commemorate the establishment of the African Union as per the Sirte Declaration of 9th September 1999.

New York, USA – 21 September 2016: The African Union Commission (AUC) today hosted a high level joint side event in conjunction with the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA), the African Development Bank (AFDB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) -Regional Bureau for Africa to discuss the modalities of effecting an integrated approach to implementing Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the Global 2030 Agenda.
