Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

H.E. Ms. Sophia Nyamudeza, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Ethiopia & Permanent Representative to the AU, paid a courtesy call on AUC Chairperson H.E. @ymahmoudali & affirmed Zimbabwe’s support for the Chairperson’s leadership.
The Chairperson highlighted Zimbabwe's pivotal role as SADC Chair, particularly in regional peace efforts, including in eastern DRC, in close coordination with the AU.

The African Union Commission and the European Union have officially launched the Africa - EU Space Partnership Programme during the Newspace Conference in Cairo, Egypt. On the sidelines of the 2025 NewSpace Africa Conference the event was held on 21st April 2025.
In a wide-ranging media encounter held today, His Excellency Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), outlined a forward-looking and ambitious roadmap for Africa’s development, underpinned by peace, self-reliance, and inclusive growth.
In his address, the Chairperson reaffirmed the African Union’s steadfast commitment to realising the aspirations of Agenda 2063, while acknowledging progress made and articulating strategic imperatives for the continent's future.

The Africa Dialogue Series (ADS – 2025), currently holding from 5-30 May 2025 at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, seeks to amplify a new narrative for Africa from Africa and foster global consensus on innovative solutions to achieve both agendas: the Africa Agenda 2063, and the 2030 Agenda. The global event is jointly organized by the Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the United Nations (AUPOM) and the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (UN-OSAA).
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission H.E. @ymahmoudali extends his heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on his election. He expresses his deep hope for continued collaboration with the Holy See in advancing peace, justice, and the dignity of every human being across our common globe.
