H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Amb. Kwesi Quartey reiterated the African Union's commitment to work closely with Caribbean and Pacific countries to address issues of mutual concern, and called on the ACP Group to take advantage of new strategic geopolitical opportunities to advance shared interests in the ongoing post-Cotonou negotiations.
The African Union Commission, and Africa 24 GROUP have signed an MoU that will see the two institutions partner to develop and disseminate content aimed at promoting Africa’s image and its development narrative.

21 March, 2019 – Buenos Aires, Argentina - A delegation from the AU Commission led by AU Commissioner for Trade and Industry, H.E. Albert M. Muchanga and AU Commissioner for Economic Affairs, H.E. Pr. Victor Harison, is participating in the 2nd High-Level UN Conference on South-South Cooperation (BAPA + 40), which takes place from 20 to the 22 of March 2019 in Buenos Aires, Argentina under the theme “The role of South-South cooperation and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Challenges and opportunities”.
March 25, 2019 – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: The African Union Commission’s Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, H.E Amb. Josefa Sacko has been named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Climate Policy 2019 by Apolitical, a peer-to-peer learning platform for governments for her efforts towards influencing climate policy on the continent.
Amb. Sacko was named among the top 20 on the listing announced in London.
Hon. Amadi succumbed to death on 10 February 2019 in London following long suffering from cancer related illness. He had served as President and Chairman of the Bureau of the PAP between 2012 and 2015.
