H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Addis Ababa, 01st February 2020: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat is closely following developments in Malawi and notes that the Constitutional Court of Malawi is due to deliver its judgement on the 3rd February 2020 regarding the election petition challenging the outcome of the Presidential election that was held on 21 May 2019.

The African Union is in talks with the Government of Cuba to start Postgraduate Medical Education in Africa. Today marked the beginning of a three-day Consultative Workshop to commence preparation leading to a roll-out of this ambitious project.
