Lusaka, Zambia, 15 June 2017 – Ahead of the meeting of Heads of State and Government Meeting taking place in Addis Ababa early next month the President of the Republic of Zambia His Excellency President Lungu was briefed on the activities of the African Union Campaign to End Child Marriage.

Nairobi, 13 June 2017: International partners have made financial pledges in support of humanitarian response efforts in the drought-hit Horn of Africa after a visit to Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya.

A delegation led by the African Union and the United Nations concluded a six day visit to the Horn of Africa in Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday, after visiting drought-affected communities in Ethiopia and Somalia. It included representatives from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the African Development Bank, the USAID Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance and the World Bank.

Addis Ababa, 6th June 2017- The African Union Commission in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Government of Kenya, has held the Third Continental Consultation on Home Grown School Feeding in Africa. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen national school feeding programmes across the continent as a key instrument for enhancing access, retention and performance in education in Africa.

Monrovia, Liberia, 08 June 2017: The Department of Political Affairs of the African Union Commission in close collaboration with the Government of Liberia is organizing a three-day consultative meeting on the Operationalization of the African Union Human Rights Memorial Project in Monrovia, Liberia, on 08-10 June 2017.
