Communique following the meeting of the Heads of International Election Observation Mission to the Fresh Presidential Elections in Kenya

Nairobi- 27th of October 2017

We the Heads of the undersigned international observer missions present in Kenya issue this communiqué on the election rescheduled for the 28th of October.

We note the decision of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to postpone polling in Homa Bay, Kisumu, Migori and Siaya counties, based on article 55b of the electoral law.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 03 October 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat extends his most sincere condolences to the families of those who died in the mass shooting tragedy in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America.

“This appalling attack which led to a senseless loss of life reminds us of the shared challenge of reducing violent crime in our communities around the globe,” said H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat.

The Chairperson also extended his wishes of quick recovery to those who sustained injuries.
