Second African Day of School Feeding Celebrated in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo

H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Second African Day of School Feeding Celebrated in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo
Bangui, 06 March 2017: The African Union Commission (AUC) Department of Political Affairs through its Democracy and Electoral Assistance Unit has commenced a ten-day training of trainers capacity building workshop for the Autorité Nationale des Elections (ANE), using the BRIDGE (Building Resources for Democracy, Governance and Elections) Train the Facilitator (TtF) curriculum.
Ahead of International Women’s Day tomorrow, we are issuing /have just issued a statement by the High Commissioner, in which he warns that the backlash against the progress in realising women’s rights hurts us all.
Also today, we have launched together with the African Union and UN Women, a report into women’s rights in Africa. It is the first in a planned series about women’s human rights on the continent that will address thematic issues.
The AU Honours African Women during the Commemoration of International Women’s Day
Addis Ababa, 10 March 2017: This week, the African Union Commission (AUC)’s Women, Gender and Development Directorate (WGDD) hosted the 2017 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations under the theme: “African Women, Especially Young Women Succeeding in the Changing World of Work: 50:50 by 2063”.
