Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 01 December, 2016: The African Union hosted the commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people in collaboration with the Palestinian Embassy to the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, the United Nations and the League of Arab States. The event was held in the context of the 39th Anniversary of the Commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma lauds the peaceful environment which surrounded the conduct of Legislative Elections on 18 December 2016 in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire. Dr. Dlamini Zuma is delighted with the smooth organization and proper conduct of the vote which marked an important milestone toward democratic consolidation in this country.

Durban, South Africa, 19 December 2016, Agenda 2063 Africa’s continental developmental framework will need a pool of talented and educated people, consequently no child should be turned away from education institutions on the continent because of poverty, so says African Union Commission Chairperson, Her Excellency Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.  Dr. Dlamini Zuma was presenting during a State of the Continent Media Briefing, which was hosted by South Africa’s Government Communications and Information Services (GCIS).

Cairo, Egypt 20 December 2016: The Credential Committee (CC) of the Economic Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) met in Hilton Ramses, Cairo, Egypt from 17-19 December 2016 to examine and appraise the applications submitted by the African civil organizations members of the 2nd ECOSOCC General Assembly. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the CC, Mrs Nagwa Metwally.
