CIDO holds the 1st Continental Workshop for Diaspora Focal Points of AU Member states

13-15 December 2016 – Cairo, Egypt – The Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO) held a three-day workshop for Diaspora Focal Points of AU Member States in Cairo, Egypt. The workshop harnessed efforts geared towards building the capacity of AU Member States in the field of Diaspora engagement by connecting them with technical resources from AU Commission, RECS, Diaspora and other AU Member States.

Arusha, Tanzania, 23 November 2016: The High Level Dialogue (HLD) was part of the celebrations of 2016 as the Year of Human Rights in Africa with Particular Focus on the Rights of Women.  The event was held in Arusha, Tanzania, jointly by the AU Organs with a human rights mandate. The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania was the guest of honour during the Opening Ceremony.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 22 December 2016: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma lauds the peaceful environment which surrounded the conduct of Legislative Elections on 18 December 2016 in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire. Dr. Dlamini Zuma is delighted with the smooth organization and proper conduct of the vote which marked an important milestone toward democratic consolidation in this country.
