Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 25 June 2016: H.E Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), on 22 June 2016 met with H.E Liu Yunshan, First-ranked Secretary of the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) , Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC, also considered as the de facto top decision-making body of China. The meeting took place at Great Hall of the People (Parliament Building) in Beijing, China.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 23 June 2016: The two-day meeting on the implementation of the continental education strategy for Africa was held last week from 23rd to 24th June at the African Union Commission (AUC), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 16-25) was adopted by the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in January 2016 to provide the post 2015 framework that links education to the human resource needs of Agenda 2063 and the SDGs, as well as national development goals.

Mombasa, Kenya – 23rd June, 2016: The African Union Commission (AUC), through the Infrastructure and Energy Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Communications & Technology of Kenya launched the Kenya Internet Exchange Point of Presence in Mombasa on 23rd June 2016.

Beijing, China, 25 June 2016 – In a joint statement issued on 21 June 2016 at the closing of the 3rd Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation in Beijing, the document with inputs from the AUC delegation led by H.E Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) was read by the Chief Executive Officer of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), Mr Grégoire Ndjaka.
