Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 25 February 2016 - The African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the United States Mission to the African Union (USAU) held a discussion on Civic Engagement and Women’s Political Participation in honor of U.S Black history month and AU Project 2016.
The objective of the discussion was to provide a platform to share experiences between the continents.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 09 May 2016- The Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO) in cooperation with the US Mission to the AU (USAU) held a two day workshop on 04 and 6th of May 2016 respectively, on creating social change through art. The workshop culminated with a jazz and hip hop performance, at the Multi-purpose hall of the African Union Commission Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 23 March 2016 -The Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO) met with a delegation from the Republic of Mozambique to discuss the different modalities and means of diaspora engagement.

Beijing, China – 22 June 2016: An AUC delegation led by the Deputy Chairperson H.E. Erastus Mwencha met with Huawei’s Senior Vice-President Dr. Gong Yuanxing in Beijing to exchange views on methodologies that would further strengthen Africa’s ICT development and industrialisation strategy whilst concretising Huawei’s investment within the Continent. In line with the “Seeds for the Future” programme initiated in January 2015, the two parties also met the second batch of AU ICT trainees currently in China, assessed outcomes and exchanged views on how to improve the programme.
