33rd AU Summit : Online accreditation for Journalists now open

The Directorate of Information and Communication (DIC) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that, the online media accreditation process for journalists to cover the 33rd AU Summit, scheduled to take place from 21 January to 10 February 2020, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has been launched on the AU website: www.au.int

Journalists interested in covering the upcoming AU Summit should register through the following link: https://au.int/en/summit/accreditation

A media advisory note explaining all the detailed arrangements for media coverage of the 33rd AU Summit will be posted soon on the Summit web page: https://au.int/en/summit/33

Meanwhile representatives of the media are kindly informed that the 33rd African Union Summit is scheduled to take place as follows:

21 - 22 January 2020: Thirty Ninth (39th) Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC).

Venue: Medium Conference Hall, New Conference Center, AUC

6 - 7 February 2020: Thirty-Six (36th) Ordinary Session of the Executive Council, (Ministerial).

Venue: (Nelson Mandela Hall), New Conference Center, AUC

9 - 10 February 2020: Thirty-Third (33rd) Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

Venue: (Nelson Mandela Plenary Hall) New Conference Center, AUC

The theme of the Summit is: “Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa’s Development.

Journalists are invited to cover all the public sessions open to the media.

A detail program of the side events as well as the statutory meetings during the 33rd AU Summit will be made available subsequently. Journalist wishing to interview the AU leadership should forward their inquiries to the following contacts:
