WHAT: The 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) will address new and emerging issues and the urgent need to fully implement the Sustainable Development Goals and support reform of the international financial architecture. FfD4 will assess the progress made in the implementation of the Monterrey Consensus, the Doha Declaration and the Addis Ababa Action agenda.
The Conference will mark the beginning of implementation of the outcome document, signaling a new phase of collective action on financing for development. Coalitions of countries and diverse stakeholders will announce commitments and concrete solutions under the Sevilla Platform for Action that will boost the renewed financing framework and setting out a turning point from dialogue to delivery.
The African Union will join governments, economists, development finance experts, policymakers, civil society leaders, and private sector partners at FfD4 to advocate for the resources, partnerships, and policies needed to advance Agenda 2063, The Africa We Want. The AU will champion financing frameworks that reflect Africa’s priorities and support sustainable, inclusive development across the continent

Progress Towards a UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation

This session will provide an update on the reform of the global tax governance system under the United Nations. It will highlight Africa’s contribution to the process, identify challenges in current negotiations, and propose solutions to strengthen the continent’s common position. Discussions will also connect these reforms to Africa’s efforts to curb illicit financial flows and advance the Financing for Development agenda.

Innovative Finance for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Role of African Multilateral Financial Institutions

Accelerating Africa’s Development in a Multipolar World

This session will focus on presenting the Strategic Framework on Key Actions to Achieve Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa (IGS Report), developed by the AfDB, the African Union Commission, and AUDA-NEPAD. The report outlines a clear pathway to achieve sustained annual GDP growth of 7–10% over the next four decades, in line with the goals of Agenda 2063.
