H.E. Cessouma Minata Samate

H.E. Cessouma Minata Samate is a Burkina Faso diplomat, born on 14 July 1961. She was elected the new Commissioner for Political Affairs of the African Union Commission. Ambassador Samate is an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Burkina Faso in Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).

Structure

The Department of Political Affairs (DPA) is responsible for promoting, facilitating, coordinating and encouraging democratic principles and the rule of law, respect for human rights, participation of civil society in the development process of the continent and the achievement of durable solutions for addressing humanitarian crises.

HARDP seeks to provide continental direction to the achievement of durable solutions for addressing humanitarian crises caused by conflicts, man-made and natural disasters.
