Executive Summary
The present report has been prepared in fulfilment of the request made in July 2015 by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government that the African Union Commission should submit a biennial report on labour migration statistics in Africa.

Within the framework of the construction of the new Headquarters of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Amb. Abdoulaye Diop, Chief of Staff of the Bureau of the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, received a delegation of ECOWAS headed by Mr. Pathé Gueye, ECOWAS Commissioner for Infrastructure accompanied by Mr. Vafolay Tulay, ECOWAS Commissioner for General Administration and Conferences.

Addis Ababa, 1 August 2018: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, welcomes the outcome of the Joint Summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), held in Lomé on 30 July 2018. This Summit, in which he participated, marked a new and important step in the efforts to meet the challenge of peace and security within both Communities, including through greater synergy of efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism.

Lomé/Addis Ababa, 29 July 2018: African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat arrived in Lomé, Togo, today, to participate in the joint Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) on Peace, Security, Stability and the Fight against Terrorism and Violent Extremism.
