The African Union (AU) is a continental organization that regularly convenes high-level meetings with the participation of delegates from across Africa and beyond. These gatherings bring together participants from diverse linguistic backgrounds, making professional interpretation and translation services essential for effective communication and successful outcomes.

To support its multilingual activities and events in the six official languages of the Union, namely Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Swahili, the Directorate of Conference Management and Publications (DCMP) is responsible for coordinating and managing conference services, including translation and interpretation.

In a bid to expand its existing Database of Freelance Translators and Interpreters, the DCMP is calling for new applications from qualified and competent freelancers from all African countries.
Interested freelancers are invited to submit their applications using the link below.

All applications will go through the AUC freelance shortlisting and selection processes. Successful candidates will be offered a Framework Contract and their services shall be requested as and when needed.

The deadline for submission is 31st May 2026.
