AU Commission Chairperson to attend the 28th Arab Summit in Jordan

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - 27 March 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, will attend the 28th League of Arab States Summit, which will be held at the Dead Sea, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 29 March 2017.

The AU Commission Chairperson is expected to hold sideline meetings with participating Heads of State and Government, with the aim of further strengthening the Africa-Arab Partnership.  The Africa-Arab Partnership is the oldest strategic partnerships that Africa entered into with the external world.

Organized by the General Secretariat of League of Arab States in collaboration with the Jordanian government, the 28th Summit is expected to focus on the political, economic, and social developments and challenges in the region. It will be attended by delegations from over 20 countries in the Arab region, and other international guests including the UN Secretary General.
