African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) to celebrate historic progress in fight against malaria in Africa with 2016 ALMA Awards for Excellence
The African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) 2016 Awards for Excellence will be presented on 30 January at 13:00-14:00 (EAT) in the African Union Conference Centre Multipurpose Hall in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The ALMA Awards, which recognize 13 countries in three categories, will be presented at the African Union as part of the programme for the Heads of State Summit.
The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the winning countries, including African heads of state.
WIMAfrica participates in the AU 8th Gender Pre-Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, 20 January 2016 – The Members of the Women In Maritime in Africa (WIMAfrica) took part in the AU 8th Gender Pre-Summit on 2016 African Year of Human Rights, with Particular Focus on the Rights of Women.
Under the Presidency of H.E Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the AUC, the 2016 Gender Pre-Summit is jointly organized by the AUC Directorate of Women, Gender and Development; the Gender is My Agenda Campaign (GIMAC), and AU partners from 17th to 20th January 2016 at the African Union Commission headquarters.

The African Peer Review Mechanism [APRM] is a Pan-African initiative to improve good governance and promote Socio-Economic Development. The objective of the APRM is to promote the adoption of policies, standards and best practices that enhance political stability, economic growth and sustainable development. (Thirty-five) African countries are currently members of the APRM. The APRM Forum of Heads of State and Government [APR Forum] has completed peer reviews in (17) seventeen countries.
