Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 23 June 2016: The two-day meeting on the implementation of the continental education strategy for Africa was held last week from 23rd to 24th June at the African Union Commission (AUC), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 16-25) was adopted by the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in January 2016 to provide the post 2015 framework that links education to the human resource needs of Agenda 2063 and the SDGs, as well as national development goals.

Mombasa, Kenya – 23rd June, 2016: The African Union Commission (AUC), through the Infrastructure and Energy Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Communications & Technology of Kenya launched the Kenya Internet Exchange Point of Presence in Mombasa on 23rd June 2016.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 24 June 2016- The Presiding Officer of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union (AU), Dr. Joseph Chilengi held a series of consultations with the Mandela - Washington fellows as part of the Africa Regional Conference of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) which were held in West, South and East Africa. The conferences were held in Accra, Ghana, from 19 - 21 May 2016; Johannesburg, South Africa from 9-11 June 2016; and Nairobi, Kenya from 15-17 June, respectively.

28 March 2016- The Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO), as part of its ongoing strategic initiative to expand its range of program partnerships, has concluded discussions with a high-level delegation from the Republic of Turkey aimed at identifying opportunities for cooperation in the field of diaspora engagement.
