Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

On this day of celebration of Africa Day, I am very pleased to express my wishes of health and prosperity to each and every one of you, whether you are from the Islands or the Diaspora.
From the 25th to the 28th of May, the African Union will host two extraordinary summits in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea: The Extraordinary Humanitarian Summit and Pledging Conference and the Extraordinary Summit on Unconstitutional Changes of Governments in Africa.
The Summits and all related events will take place in the Conference Centre of Sipopo. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held in the main Plenary Hall of the Centre and will be open to all delegates and accredited media.
The survey dubbed ‘AU Youth Survey’ is part of an effort to increase the participation of young people across the continent in the development of policies and recommendations that address key issues affecting them.
The key objective of this forum aligns with Aspiration 6 of the African Union Agenda 2063 and article 11 of the African Youth Charter, by providing young people with the opportunity to have their voices heard by key decision makers on key issues that are to be deliberated at the summit.
