African Ministers of ICT and Communication will convene in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 23^rd November 2023 for the 5th Ordinary Session of the African Union Specialized Technical Committee on Communication and ICT (STC-CICT)

In response to the unprecedented wave of climatic and geophysical hazards that have plagued the African continent throughout 2023, the African Union Commission (AUC) is rallying Member States, Regional Economic Communitie s (RECs), and partners to enhance resilience and preparedness. This call to action emerged during the recent event, Building Resilience after Cyclone Freddy, part of the AUC’s 'Fridays of the Commission' series, held at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 27 October 2023.

The joint African Union Commission (AUC) and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Election Observation Mission (EOM) arrived in Madagascar on 10 November 2023. At the invitation of the Government of Madagascar, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, approved the deployment of the joint short-term AU-COMESA EOM to observe and report on the conduct of the 16 November 2023 presidential election.

The 10-year review aims at taking stock of progress since the 5-year review and identify best practices that have advanced the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action within the context of SDGs and Africa Agenda 2063.
