It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

H.E. Professor Mohamed Belhocine, Commissioner in charge of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI), conducted a working mission to the Arab Republic of Egypt on 23-24 January 2023, at the invitation of the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E. Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ahmed Ashour, with the key objective to sign the Host Agreement of the African Space Agency (AfSA), and see firsthand the status of development of the premises and facilities in preparation for the operationalization of the African Space Agency.
7 February 2023, Addis Ababa: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat expresses his deep shock and sorrow, alongside the world community, with the governments and peoples of Türkiye and Syria, as the extreme magnitude of the catastrophic earthquake that occurred in both countries, becomes apparent.
The Chairperson reiterates the deepest condolences to, and strong solidarity of the African Union and the African Continent, with the families of the victims and the governments and peoples of Türkiye and Syria.
The Commission wishes to further remind that invitations are strictly directed to respective Heads of Non-African States and International Institutions accredited to the African Union in Addis Ababa
