The Head of Mission is supported by the AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Amb. Bankole Adeoye. The AU election observation mission to Zambia comprises 30 short term observers (STOs).

Addis Abeba, August 6, 2021: Following the decision to accredit the Representative of the State of Israel to the African Union, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, wishes to recall that this decision falls within his full sphere of competence, without being tied to any preliminary procedure.

The decision was taken on the basis of the fact of the recognition of Israel and the restoration of diplomatic relations with it by a majority of more than two thirds of AU Member States and at the express demand of many Member States to that end.

Addis-Abeba le 6 août 2021 : Le Président de la Commission de l’Union africaine, Moussa Faki Mahamat, a suivi avec une certaine inquiétude la multiplication ces derniers temps des attaques terroristes perpètres par Boko Haram contre le Tchad et le Cameroun et par d’autres groupes armés contre le Burkina, le Mali et le Niger.

Comme de coutume, ces attaques lâches ont visé indistinctement populations civiles et forces de défense et de sécurité, faisant des dizaines de morts et blessés.

Ethiopian Airlines Group and A-e Trade Group, have signed MoU to establish the East African smart logistics and fulfilment hub at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Solomon Begashaw, Global Director, Cargo Sales, and Services, representing Ethiopian Airlines and Mr. Mulualem Syoum, CEO and Chairman of A-e Trade Group at the Headquarters of the African Union Commission on 31 July 2021.
