Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: "The African Union Commission (AUC) has always championed for the inclusion of youth living with disabilities in the workplace and in civic spaces. The AU Disability Inclusion Guideline for Youth Exchange serves as a working document to assist the AU and its organs in providing equal access to opportunities for all African youth" said Ms. Prudence Ngwenya, Head of Human Recourses, Science and Technology (HRST).

In January 2012 during the 18th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of States and Governments of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the African Union agreed on a decision to establish an African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) with seven acknowledged key fundamental action clusters namely: trade policy, trade facilitation, productive capacity, trade related infrastructure, trade finance, trade information, and factor market integration.

On the 11th of September 2020, the African Union International Centre for Girls' and Women's Education in Africa (AU/CIEFFA) officially launched the Africa Educates Her campaign.

His Majesty King Letsie III Head of State of the Kingdom of Lesotho, African Union Nutrition Champion and also a champion of African Leaders for Nutrition (ALN), has issued a position paper titled, "Embedding Nutrition within the COVID-19 Response and Recovery ". The position paper which has been sent to all the African Union Member States calls on all Heads of State and Governments to ensure the incorporation and promotion of nutrition smart interventions within COVID-19 response and recovery action plans.
