ADDIS ABABA, August 26 – Members of the African Union Permanent Representative Committee, Donors and Partner Agencies have recognized the magnitude of displacement in Africa and reiterated their commitment to finding durable solutions during a quarterly update session on the 2019 African Union theme: ``The Year for Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa.”

The retreat focused on pathways to advance women’s leadership through intergenerational dialogue and empowerment of young women leaders.

Antananarivo, Madagascar, 23 August 2019: To enhance the interface and partnership between the African Union, the policy makers and the private sector and drive the realization of the aspirations of Africa’s development framework Agenda 2063, the African Union Commission through the Department of Economic Affairs, is convening the 11th African Private Sector Forum set to be hosted in Antananarivo, Madagascar, on the 6-8 November 2019.

22 August 2019, Addis Abeba: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat welcomes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to improve the political and economic relations between the governments of Rwanda and Uganda that took place in Luanda, Angola on Wednesday.

The Chairperson commends the leadership shown by President Paul Kagame and President Yoweri Museveni to resolve their differences through dialogue in the spirit of regional cooperation.
