Training of Trainers Workshop on Public Health Emergency Operations Centres Opens in Addis Ababa
A nine-day training of trainers workshop on the management and operations of a Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (PHEOC) opened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Monday 24 June 2019. Thirty-one trainees from 21 African Union Member States and Saudi Arabia are participating in the workshop, which is facilitated jointly by the West Africa Health Organization (WAHO), WHO Headquarters, WHO Regional Office for Africa, WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, US CDC and Africa CDC.

The Republic of Rwanda Signs the Treaty for the Establishment of the African Medicine Agency (AMA)
The Republic of Rwanda became the first AU Member State to sign the Treaty for the establishment of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) on 12th June 2019. The AMA Treaty was adopted on 11 February 2019 by the African Union Assembly during their 32nd Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
