A Continental Youth Capacity Building Workshop on Girls in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) for Gender-Responsive Education has officially opened in Nairobi, Kenya. Running from 25th –28th November 2025, the workshop is held under the theme: “Empowering Girls in STEAM: Innovating for Inclusive and Gender-Responsive Education in Africa.”

The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of the African Union (AU) Peace Fund, on 18th November 2025, carried out its first statutory meeting. The Independent Evaluation Group is set advance oversight, strengthen accountability, and reinforce performance monitoring across the Fund’s operations. The meeting aimed to consolidate the IEG’s mandate and enhance coordination among governance bodies responsible for the Fund’s effective implementation.

The meeting elected of H.E. Amb. Maria G. Harrison as Chairperson and H.E. Youness EI Mesmoudi as Deputy Chairperson of the IEG.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, held constructive discussions this evening with H.E. President Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, on the margins of the 7th AU–EU Summit in Luanda.

Their exchange focused on advancing Africa–France cooperation in trade, peace & security, & climate action, within the broader framework of the AU–EU partnership. They also agreed to work together on the necessity to reform the UN Security Council, & International Financial Institutions.
