Data governance is poised to take center stage at the Data Governance and Innovation Forum in Africa scheduled to take place in from 17^th -18^th November 2023 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security, African Union Commission (AUC) hosted the 2023 Convening Committee and Implementation Meetings of the endorsers of the Declaration of Principles (DoP) for International Elections Observation and the Code of Conduct for International Election Observers, From 14 to 17 November 2023, at the AUC HQ in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

On the 20th of November, annually, Africa commemorates Africa Industrialization Day (AID). This is a significant activity agreed upon by the African Union Heads of State and Government in July 1989 through Resolution AHG/Res. 180 (XXV) and the United Nations General Assembly in December 1989 through Resolution 44/237. This day serves as a global platform for African Union Member States and the rest of the world, through the United Nations institutions to reaffirm their commitment to Africa's industrialization.

A team from the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Unit of the African Union Commission (AUC) participated in a Field Visit on the implementation of the Africa Programme of Action for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Region. The team undertook the 25-28 September 2023 visit in Gaborone, Botswana.
