Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Experts in digital transformation, gender and education, attending the Second Innovation Education Expo, urged the continent to adopt inclusive digital policies for out-of-school girls in Africa.
The PATTEC Coordination Office in collaboration with Southern African Development Community (SADC) organized a consultative meeting with representatives of five SADC member states in Gaborone, Botswana on 7 – 9 August 2019. The regional consultative meeting brought together fifteen participants including Tsetse and Trypanosomosis experts from Member States, staff of AU-PATTEC and SADC, and PATTEC Coordinators from the region including Kingdom of eSwatini, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Department of Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission in partnership with GRV Global, an Event Management Company organized the third Edition of the Africa Mining Summit under the theme: “Reviving Africa Mining Products”. The Summit comprised of a two-day conference which included, Keynote presentations and panel discussions on all aspects related to the Continent’s ongoing mining and mineral resource development efforts.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 23 June 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, wishes to extend sincere condolences to the Masire family, the Government and the people of the Republic of Botswana on the passing of Dr. Quett Ketumile Joni Masire on 22 June 2017. The late President Masire was born on 23 July 1925 and was the second President of Botswana from 1980 to 1998.
