African Union Deploys Long-Term Election Observation Mission ahead of Presidential Elections in the Republic of Cameroon
Yaoundé, 5 September 2018: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat has authorized the deployment of a 12-member long-term election observation mission to the presidential elections scheduled to take place on 7 October 2018 in the Republic of Cameroon. Four (4) core team of analysts and eight (8) long-term observers (LTOs) arrived in Yaoundé, Cameroon on 5 September 2018 and will remain in the country until 19 October 2018 to comprehensively assess the electoral process in line with the African Union Long Term Election Observation Methodology.

The Rectorate was formerly in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia. It is by Decision Assembly/AU/Dec.552 (XXIV) that AU Heads of State and Government, during the Summit of January 2015, designated Cameroon to host the Rectorate of the Pan African University.
