H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The African Union Commission on International Law (the AUCIL), an advisory organ of the African Union, held its 8th Forum on International and African Union Law on the theme: Constitutional Democracy, Rule of Law and the Fight against Corruption.
The Board of the World Bank Group has approved a total of $250 million to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, and the Republic of Zambia to strengthen continental and regional response systems to combat epidemics and advance critical public health priorities.
