Pretoria, South Africa – 3 December 2015: The Chairperson of the AU Commission Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, have exchanged on critical areas to strengthen the relationship between the African Union and China. They met on 3 December 2015, on the margins of the second Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit, in Pretoria, Republic of South Africa.

The two leaders were meeting in South Africa barely a month after their meeting in Beijing, China, when the AU Commission Chairperson paid an official visit.

Johannesburg- 3rd December 2015: Ministers from Africa and China converged in their 6th Conference of China-Africa Cooperation Forum (FOCAC), Thursday, 3rd December 2015, at International Conference Center, Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Pretoria, South Africa. The Conference is in preparation for the 2nd FOCAC Summit, which will witness African and Chinese leaders meet in Africa for the first time in the 15-year history of the Forum to look at ways of deepening cooperation.

Midrand, South Africa, 1st December 2015: The African Union Commission in collaboration with the Pan African Parliament, International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), and the German Cooperation (GIZ) are holding the first regional meeting with representatives of the Judiciary to strengthen the rule of law and Justice Reform in Southern Africa. The meeting is being held within the framework of the African Governance Architecture (AGA) as the overall political and institutional framework, aimed at appropriately addressing the challenges of governance in Africa.
