African Union consults regional and continental partners on the Common Africa Position to end TB

Johannesburg, 07 November 2017- The African Union’s Partnership and Coordination Forum on AIDS, TB and Malaria last week reviewed the draft Common Africa Position on TB for the United Nations General Assembly High Level Meeting on TB that is scheduled to take place in 2018. The Draft Common Africa Position on TB was last month reviewed by the Ministry of Health TB Programme Managers in Harare.

The said workshop, held from August 14th to 25th, 2017 in Johannesburg, addresses Aspiration 3 of Agenda 2063: “An African continent characterized by good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice, and rule of law”.

The objective of the Meeting is to continue the work that has already been undertaken since the beginning of the CFTA process by providing inputs to the relevant annexes and appendices of the CFTA Agreement for consideration by the CFTA Negotiating Forum.
