Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

AUC Chairperson and the President of Chile meet in New York
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma met with the President of the Republic of Chile, H.E. Sebastian Pinera, in New York ahead of the UN General Assembly meeting.
The discussions of the two leaders focused on areas of common interest, particularly around economic and diplomatic cooperation.
Chile is campaigning to join the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member.
UEA Foreign Minister and AUC Chairperson meet in New York
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Adbullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma met in New York today, 22 September 2013 ahead of the UN General Assembly meeting.
The discussed the situations in Egypt and Libya. The UAE Foreign Minister lauded the African Union and its full engagement in looking for durable solutions in the two countries.
AUC and UNDP to sign Strategic Partnership
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma met with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator, Helen Clark, in New York ahead of the 68th UN General Assembly meeting.
They talked about a number of issues, particularly the establishment of a strategic partnership between the UNDP and the AUC. Once an agreement is signed, the two Heads will meet to review every two years.
