September.15.2015 – September 17.2015 Capacity building workshop to support Internet Service Providers in Eastern Africa to become Regional Internet Carriers in Nairobi, Kenya.
As part of supporting the development of Internet Usage in the region, a capacity building workshop aimed at building the business and technical capacity of selected Internet Service Providers (ISP) to become Regional Internet Carriers is conducted for Eastern Africa Region from 15 -17 August 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya. Progressus Corporation has been contracted to facilitate the workshop

The three day workshop includes but not limited to the following topics:
 Detailed analysis of the regional interconnection policy
 How to leverage on the regional interconnection policy to competitively build across-the region
 Peering and interconnection economics for Internet carriers
 Identifying staffing requirements for regional internet carriers
 How to leverage on technological advancements to enhance regional internet carrier business strategy
 Identifying investment requirements for regional internet carriers (infrastructure and equipment)
 How to develop strategic partnerships for cross-border interconnection

Representatives from BCS, Simbanet, Xtranet (Kenya) and EDS from Mauritius attend the workshop.
