Moussa Faki Mahamat:

· Welcomed all the executive directors of Rome-based UN specialist organizations ie the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), the World Food Programme (WHO) and The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to AU HQ in Addis Abeba, which honoured the relationship enjoyed by The AU and the UN specialized agencies that play an important role in Africa’s quest for food security and the harnessing of the agricultural sector

· Important to reinforce relations given the many challenges Africa faces from natural and causes due to conflict

· Important to integrate emergency humanitarian assistance to development needs especially for rural populations because it is unacceptable that we still suffer and die of hunger in the 21st century. After immediate emergency needs are met, it is key to ensure that food security together with human security become sustained.
