The Chairperson of the Commission Receives the Letter of Credence of the New Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the AU

Addis Abeba, 18 May 2018 – The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat received the letters of credence of H.E. Mr. Mohamed Arrouchi, newly appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed IV, as the Permanent Representative of Morocco to the African Union.

Amb. Arrouchi transmitted the warm greetings from His Majesty King Mohammed IV of Morocco to the Chairperson of the Commission and added “I am honored to take part in such key moments of the collaboration between my country Morocco and the continental institution. I am very proud to see you as the Head of the AU and be assured of my determination and the commitment of my country to work closely with you and our brother countries, Members States of the Pan-African Institution.”

The Chairperson reassured Amb. Arrouchi that he comes “at a transformative moment when the AU is engaged in the process of reforming the Union and other continental integration programs such as the newly signed African Continental Free Trade Area. We are in a phase of consolidation and it is important that, like during the OAU, Morocco continues to plays its role in the integration of the continent”.

The newly appointed Ambassador conveyed the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed IV to the Chairperson to visit Morocco at his convenient time. The Chairperson wishes the ambassador success in his tenure.
